A large part of our business is installing sports lighting systems at schools, public parks and even professional stadiums. Unless we are there to retrofit an old system, we need our Drill team there to dig the holes and then spot, build and stand the light poles. It may sound simple to just dig a hole and put the pole in but it is anything but simple. Our team must dig first with our DTC 80 drill rig. 9 times out of 10 we encounter some sort of rock or ledge which complicates the whole operation. Hitting ledge requires different drill bits and blasting through the rock in order to get the hole to the necessary depth, which can waste valuable time. Once the accurate hole depth is acquired, it is time to stand the pole. This requires a concrete truck and possibly a pump truck be on site ready to pour. Needless to say, there are a lot of moving parts to coordinate, which is always done with ease by our expert drill team.
